The Wife of the Bewitched King
Charles II of Spain is known for the extreme interbreeding that created his existence, as outlined in my previous article on his autopsy. Unfortunately, as the King of Spain, he was still expected to marry and father children to continue his dynasty. Two unfortunate women were selected for this duty. Our focus is on his first wife: Marie Louise d’Orléans.
Marie Louise d’Orléans was the daughter of Philippe, Duc d’Orléans, the flamboyant younger brother of Louis XIV of France. Her mother was Philippe’s first wife and first cousin, Henrietta of England. Henrietta was the youngest sister of Charles II of England and James II of England. Henrietta was renowned for her beauty but trapped in a sexually frustrating marriage to Philippe. Phillipe was known for his feminine personality, even wearing dresses and other ladylike clothing. He also had a terrible habit of flaunting his male lovers in an attempt to torture his wife. Henrietta was said to find solace and sexual satisfaction with her brother-in-law, King Louis XIV. Some claimed that Louis was even Louise’s father. At her birth, her mother was…
